Some updates from the Waterfront Heritage City of Terengganu :-)
Monsoon is here, in full force! The normally tame waves we see daily on our way home has transformed into fierce, angry looking waves, lashing out at the shores :0 And the weather is superb! The strong monsoon wind has transformed this normally hot & humid town into an extremely cold place. On most of the nights, it feels as if I'm up in the Highlands *brrrr*
Its election time!!
Come 17th of January 2009, folks of Kuala Terengganu will be streaming out of kampungs & houses from near and afar to vote for their choice of candidate : BN's Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh & Pas candidate Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut.
The atmosphere in town has been hyped up since 2 weeks ago with politicians making their presence known in every corner of the town. On my flight back to KT last weekend, Teresa Kok was on the same plane. On the very next day, another politician was on the same flight as my housemate. Tomorrow, our PM will be making a grand visit up to officiate the laying of foundation of a new building at the Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah. I wonder if we'll get to see him *grins*
And of course we can't miss the presence of some 600 police officers currently residing in temporary large shelters right next to the hospital. Its hard to miss the dozens of police bikes & vehicles lined up neatly on 2 rows along the entire stretch of the road.
An interesting weekend coming up ;)
