Stress-ful? Be stress-free!

STRESSED OUT?? :)

This is a phrase commonly used in our modern day society and the english dictionary definition of stress is great worry caused by a difficult situation.

Stress has been so common that it is an etiology of many modern day medical conditions e.g. heart attacks and high blood pressure. It is so major that it even lowers the lifespan of the average person. In the hospital here in KT, i once clerked a patient admitted into the coronary unit for a heart attack. He was a lecturer with a packed and hectic daily schedule, he was facing stress in teaching and administrative work, he didn't have time to exercise and one fine day, he just collapsed.

Stress is not only experienced in work, everyone encounters stress in one way or another every single day. E.g, being late for a class, having tons of assignments or presentations piling up, getting stuck in traffic jams, not being able to find a car park and etc. Therefore, stress is a part and parcel of life, whether we like it or not. So why let urself be affected by the stress? :)

I remember my pastor once saying, stress is a normal part of our life. The outcome of stress depends on your reaction towards it. Resilient people (who overcome stress) are those that acknowledge stressful situations do happen but are not overwhelmed by worries and anxieties because they focus on His Grace and His ability and hence are rooted deeply in His love!

I have personally experienced this myself. Many a times, i face stress when preparing for a case presentation to the lecturers. Stress in finding a suitable patient, obtaining the relevant history and doing physical examination and even more stress when its my turn to present to a strict lecturer. In times like this, i always pray, and true enough never once has God failed me. He prepared good cases for me to clerk, wisdom to prepare the case and most importantly favor with the lecturer! *thank u Jesus!*

So yes, even though exams are coming, stress not.. For Deuteronomy 31:8 promises you that :

" The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you, He will be marching with you. He'll not fail you nor forsake(abandon) you. Do not fear (loose courage) or be dismayed (alarmed)... "

Hi Sarah, wow... you're blogging more regularly than me. Blogging to relieve stress?

I did stress factors for my thesis, and you'll be surprised how many people let small nitty gritty things in life cause stress for them. And nope, though I have every reason to be stressed at the moment, I'm not :)
